Event Writer and Marketer

Description :

​Background: PMINJ has multiple communication vehicles; a bi-monthly newsletter, LinkedIn Group, Facebook page and a website. There is a need to ensure that the readers [members and community] are reading relevant information. Given that this is a volunteer organization there is a need to be as efficient and effective as possible in gathering timely and relevant information from inside the chapter as well as external to the chapter.

The Writer / Reporter role is to write articles related to internal PMINJ events and on occasion write articles that occur in the community related to project management or specifically to PMINJ. The ideal candidate for this role is a person that has good communications skills and will utilize this position to improve on their communication skills as a writer, listener and interview skills.

Internal Sources:
PMINJ Board members, members, PMINJ Dinner Meeting, PMINJ LCI meetings, Symposium Leader – for IPM Day and May Symposium, and other events.

External Sources: Vendors, subject matter experts, community events, corporations

The writer / reporter must have strong communication skills [writing, listening and conducting interviews]. This is a great opportunity for the right person that wants to improve their communication skills and gain exposure within the PMINJ, PMI and local community.

This role will be a part of the Newsletter team that consists of the Editor, Content Managers and a Quality Content manager. The content created by this role will be used in the PMINJ newsletter, the PR team Social Media and National PMI publications.
