The Symposium Team needs volunteer writers to advance its event and team
communications across print and social media outlets. The volunteer
should have strong communication skills and the desire to advance their
communications and project management skills and gain exposure within
the PMINJ, PMI and local community in this volunteer role.The
Symposium Communications team is responsible for preparing
communications about the Symposium / Seminar events. The communication
includes information regarding the speakers and the program prior to the
event to engage attendance from the PM Community and after the event to
describe the sessions attended. This volunteer should attend
the May Symposium / Seminar and November IPM events and coordinate with
other writers on the Symposium team to build effective and interesting
Responsibilities include: • Prepare email, newsletter, PMI publications and web and social media content for the PMINJ Symposium.
• Participate in weekly planning calls with the team lead and other
communications committee members in preparation for the Symposium. • Assure communications timeline requirements are met.
• Attend the event (volunteer discount) and prepare write ups for the
sessions while enjoying the speakers, great food, networking and earning
PDU’s. • Integrate feedback from other writers or attendees and assure quality of final submission. • Participate in post event lessons learned.
Travel to attend the symposium events within NJ (two times in a year)
